Family Support
Do you need support?
As a parent, you may need help for all sorts of reasons.
We support families experiencing issues such as:
- loneliness and isolation because they have no family or friends nearby
- family illness or bereavement
- exhaustion and despair caused by the demands of several pre-school children or multiple births.
How do we help?
If you have a child under the age of five, and you live in the Cotswolds, you can contact us and we will visit you to see if one of our volunteers can help.
Our volunteers visit families weekly, offering support, friendship and practical help. Volunteers work alongside parents in their own homes to boost confidence and well-being, help with family management and parenting skills, and establish social networks.
We would like to reassure you that all of our staff and volunteers adhere to the Home-Start Cotswolds Confidentiality Policy. This policy can be found in the Downloads section of the FAQs page.
Why is support important?
The charity believes the five years between birth and school are vital for a child’s development – and that youngsters raised in a stable, loving family environment are more likely to have a positive, healthy future.
It helps parents learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children.
