Last Thursday we welcomed our new volunteers, who all joined us for the first week of their training course.   We had a great session getting to know each other, all whilst introducing the basics of our work at Home-Start Cotswolds.  As is tradition, we like to provide our new volunteers with lunch in the first week, and Katharine served up her best homemade soup yet (butternut squash for those who are interested!).  Clare’s flapjacks went down a treat for pudding too, and it was lovely to chat and hear all about why our new volunteers had decided to join the course.

We train our volunteers over 8 sessions and hope to match them with families in the Spring.  Over these next few weeks, our new volunteers will learn all about our work with local families and build on their own skills, knowledge and confidence, so they feel ready and prepared to visit a family at home.

We are so pleased to welcome our class of 2026 and in a few weeks’ time we will be introducing them to our wider volunteer team at some shared training.
