Today was the last day of our volunteer training course and although we are sad not to have such a wonderful group joining us each Thursday, we were delighted to see them complete the course and receive their certificates!  The class of 2026 has been a wonderful group, and we know they will go on to provide great support in our community.  We will work closely with them over the coming months to match families and volunteers for home visiting support.

We’ve covered so much on our preparation course over the past 8 weeks, and we know our volunteers are now keen to put their skills into practice.  At our last session of the course, we were joined by a Mum and the volunteer that supported her.  We heard firsthand about the difference home visiting support had made to Mum, and our volunteer.  It was a real privilege to hear their story and learn about the positive impact they had had on each other; we are truly grateful that they could come in to share their experience with us just before our new volunteers embark on their own volunteer journey.

We’re sending a thank you to our new volunteers for their commitment to the course and to our funders and supporters for helping to fund the training.  We have no doubt that our new volunteers will make such a difference to the families they are matched with and we’re excited to see them embark on that journey.
