Four of our staff team are taking on the Cotswolds Way Ultra Challenge on 13th June, to raise money for Home-Start Cotswolds. They got together last weekend to try out part of the route and found out just how hilly the Cotswolds Way is, beautiful but hilly! The photo is on a much flatter section, by the canal locks at Stroud.
Hann and Karen will be attempting 50km and Katharine and Ivan are going for the full 100km (walking through the night!). Last weekend they all walked from Painswick to Coaley Peak, around 26km, and then Katharine and Ivan continued to North Nibley, a further 10km. Katharine walked back the next day, just for an added bit of fun!
One thing they discovered, it really is a tough and hilly challenge and they have more training to do before the event. Let’s hope their legs hold out – only a few sore knees and blisters have been reported so far, so fingers crossed!
If you’re in a position to help them fundraise, their team Just Giving Page is linked here – any contribution, large or small is greatly appreciated and will go towards our work supporting local families – thank you!
