We are delighted to announce that Harriet Phillips has agreed to become Patron of our charity.
With many years of experience as a paediatric nurse, Harriet brings a wealth of professional knowledge, understanding and connection to our work at Home-Start Cotswolds. Having dedicated 24 years to the NHS, Harriet specialised in infant mental health and working with vulnerable children at hospitals including Evelina London Children’s Hospital. On returning to the Cotswolds, she moved away from hospitals and began working in the community with babies, young children and their families.
Commenting on her patronage, Harriet said: “I am delighted to have been asked to become Patron of Home-Start Cotswolds and to hopefully shine a light on the incredible work of this charity, which I have experienced first-hand in my previous work.”
Harriet was born in Gloucestershire and has strong family connections to the Cotswolds. Her first-hand experience as a specialist nurse and as a mother helped her relate to the babies and young families she worked with later in her professional career across the Cotswolds. Harriet added: “I feel very fortunate to have had support around me in my own life, and I recognise how valuable that can be, particularly when navigating the challenges of family life. Not everyone has that same support network, and I believe every parent deserves to feel supported, understood and encouraged.”
Welcoming Harriet to Home-Start Cotswolds, Chair of Trustees Richard Waller commented: “We’re thrilled that Harriet has chosen to support us as a Patron as she has such a strong affinity with and understanding of the support we offer to local families. I know that the trustees, staff and volunteers are greatly looking forward to her patronage and are delighted that she will champion our belief that the earliest years of a child’s life make the biggest impact.”
Harriet kindly took the opportunity to announce her patronage in her recent Hello! Magazine interview, raising awareness of our work with local families and their young children.
Our trustees, volunteers and staff look forward to working with Harriet as Patron and we wish her a very warm welcome to the Home-Start Cotswolds family.
