We had a brilliant time at our summer party in August. Over 60 children joined us, along with their families and volunteers for games, crafts, soft play, bubbles and cake. We were so lucky with the weather, we had a lovely morning of sunshine allowing us to make full use of the garden as a result. It was great to see the children playing together, as well as parents and volunteers socialising in the sunshine.
Each year we try and set up something new at the craft table and this year was no exception. Sophie joined us to make flowers from pipe cleaners and the results were brilliant. It was our busiest crafting table yet, with lots of families taking away their home-made flowers in a vase. One little boy was especially pleased with a flower he made for his volunteer.
We are so grateful to be able to put on such a fun party each year and it’s thanks to the support we receive from our local community that means it can go ahead. A special mention to Tesco in Cirencester who provided us with fruit and baby snacks, Castles in The Sky who always do a great job setting up our soft play area, The Westwoods Centre in Northleach for a great venue and all of our volunteers, Trustees and staff who turn up, help set up, clear up and bake delicious cakes for everyone to enjoy. We couldn’t do it without this great team effort – thank you!
