Our volunteers tell us it’s one of their most rewarding days of the week, supporting a family, being a steady, friendly face during a tricky patch, and watching things slowly get easier over time. And the good news is we’re now recruiting new volunteers to join us on our training course, starting in January.
We run a comprehensive free training course over 8 weeks, where you’ll meet and learn alongside others who feel the same desire to help. By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident to start supporting a family and be ready to make a real difference in your local community. No formal qualifications are needed, just the empathy and understanding that comes from a parenting role, along with the warmth and desire to pass a little of that on.
We’ll be meeting at The Old Prison Cafe in Northleach on Friday 13th November at 10.30am for coffee if you’re interested to find out more. Please let us know if you’d like to join us, alternatively, you can visit the volunteering pages here on our website, where you’ll find lots of information, including our volunteer application form.
Please note, it’s essential that new volunteers can commit to completing our training, the dates are:
- Fridays, 9.30am – 1pm at The George Moore Centre, Bourton-on-the-Water
- 22nd January – 19th March 2027 (not including half term, 19th Feb)
Please get in touch if you’d like to come along to our coffee morning in November, or if you can’t make it but would still like to find out more, please do get in touch – we’d love to hear from you. You can email or phone us:
